Noelle Sabrina Gunder born May 10, 2003, lived a life defined by joy, love, and genuine connection. As a young woman with special needs, she showed that worth is measured by presence and impact, not limitations.
At Annapolis High School, she was known for her bright spirit. She loved music, swimming, biking, and being around people. Her smile and sincerity reminded others of what truly matters.
Noelle met everyone with patience, compassion, and unconditional love. Those who knew her were better because of her.
Her legacy continues through the Noelle S. Gunder Memorial Scholarship, supporting future Special Education educators who understand the calling of serving students with disabilities.


Noelle Gunder Memorial Scholarship
Awarding Two Scholarships of $1,500
The Noelle Gunder Memorial Scholarship supports committed college students preparing for careers in Special Education. It honors academic excellence, community engagement, and a dedication to serving learners with diverse needs.
• Two scholarships of $1,500 each
• May 10 (All materials must be submitted by this date.)
Applicants must:
• Be a Junior or Senior at one of the following Maryland institutions: – Bowie State University
– University of Maryland Eastern Shore
– Morgan State University
– Coppin State University
• Major in Special Education
• Hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
• Provide proof of community service involvement

Noelle S. Gunder Memorial Grant
Grant Amount: Up to $1,000 Available to Anne Arundel County Residents
The Noelle S. Gunder Memorial Grant provides financial assistance to families of children with special needs. Its purpose is to help cover essential services, therapies, equipment, or supports that are not fully funded by insurance or other programs.
This grant supports families seeking resources that improve the quality of life, development, or daily functioning of a child with special needs. Funding may be used for services, therapeutic supports, adaptive equipment, or other necessary interventions.

Applicants must be seeking support for a child diagnosed with special needs, including but not limited to: • Physical disabilities • Developmental disabilities • Emotional or behavioral disorders
A diagnosis from a licensed medical or qualified healthcare professional is required.
Families must demonstrate verified financial need. Required documentation includes:
• A description of the specific service, therapy, equipment, or support being requested
• The total cost of the requested item or service
• Documentation showing the expense is not covered, or only partially covered, by insurance
• Proof of household financial need (income documentation or other relevant financial records)
